Wooden poster beds
A poster to promote the latest James Bond film that features the spy brandishing a machine-gun has come under fire from an anti-arms group.Protesters claim the marketing campaign glorifies armed violence and want the work for the new 007 film Quantum Of Solace pulled. Its launch comes in the wake of a series of gun attacks across the UK and the banning of another controversial poster by the advertising watchdog. This week, the Advertising Standards Authority rules that two posters for the Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy flick, Wanted , could be seen to glamorise the use of guns and violence .The use of guns as props in Bond movie posters is nothing new. They featured posters for both Octopussy and Goldeneye .But Mothers Against Murder and Aggression campaigner, Lyn Costello, told the Daily Star, Kids are killing each other they are shooting and stabbing each other and everyone has to take responsibility for stopping this. The ASA said it had yet to receive an official complaint over the poster.
